Describe the situation using the setting and the client.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; setting: NEURO ICU.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>-Caucasion patient is terminally-ill from the massive brain bleed. Due to the extensive brain damage, she is in a coma and sleeping peacefully in bed while her family is next to her in the hospital. She is in her 70&#8217;s and has five siblings of brothers and sisters. She lived a wonderful life with her multiple dogs and husband.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>3. Identify the topic of the conversation: Losing a loved-one.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>4. Idenfity the goal of the conversation: Being there to emotionally support them as a student nurse.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>5. Identify thoughts and feelings during AND after the conversation.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>6. Idenfity therapeutic communication techniques used such as broad openings, and using empathy.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>7. Verbal response of the patient&#8217;s husband needs to be described adequately.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>8. Verbal response of my own thoughts need to be described adequately.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>9. Nonverbal behaviors are described adequately of my own self and patient.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>9a. Include the emotional state of the self and patient all while during conversation.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>10. Cultural considerations and lifespan issues and how they affect the conversation. Was there any bias?&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>11.
