There are many critical international and domestic issues happening in the 21st century that are either<\/p>\n

related or parallel to 20th century events. For this requirement, students are asked to:<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Find a recent news article (no more than one year old) about a current event<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Discuss and respond to how the article relates to an event, concept, or era covered in class<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Reflect on why you chose the topic. Why is it important?<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Provide analysis and critical thinking and not just a regurgitation of information<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Write as if you are addressing an audience who cares to listen<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 No right or wrong answers<\/div>\n
Guidelines:<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Find an article from a credible source \u2013 avoid 24-hour news channels (Fox News, CNN, MSNBC,<\/div>\n
etc.)… Also, avoid opinion articles (op-eds). If you are unsure of your source, please consult<\/div>\n

\uf0b7 Format: 5 FULL pages (no less), typed, DOUBLE SPACED, and 12-point Times New Roman<\/div>\n
font, one-inch margins.<\/div>\n
