You may not choose a text that we have already discussed in class, though.<\/p>\n<div>Existential analysis<\/div>\n<div>Objective<\/div>\n<div>In this unit, we will examine authors whose texts may be interpreted using an existential reading.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Assignment<\/div>\n<div>You will then choose a text of your own and present an existential analysis of it. You will use three of the four following points to substantiate your thesis: choice, absurdity, alienation, or rebel. Your text will be your primary source. You should, however, bring in outside associations from current events, news, politics, social norms, essayists and other aspects of popular culture in order to strengthen your analysis.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Things to think about<\/div>\n<div>Be sure to show how the theme of your chosen text remains relevant in universal terms.
