For <\/span>this TMA, you will need to follow these<\/span><\/span> steps:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1. Plan your essay ahead of time by writing a plan highlighting the main points you intend to cover.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Write a thesis statement stating<\/span><\/span> your argument to be included on<\/span><\/span> the first page of your essay.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. Select a few <\/span>scenes from the <\/span>picturebook<\/span><\/span>that relate to<\/span><\/span>your argument. State what they<\/span><\/span>tell us, <\/span>and <\/span>add your own comments and interpretation<\/span><\/u>.<\/span><\/span>Y<\/span><\/span>ou need to analyse the text<\/span><\/span>, and the picture<\/span><\/span>rather than simply describe <\/span>it<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4. Make sure your essay refers to some<\/span><\/span> quotatio<\/span><\/span>ns and\/or pictures from the <\/span>picturebook<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5. Your analytical comments should <\/span>precede or <\/span>follow every time you quote from the text under discussion or <\/span>from <\/span>the critical material you refer to. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

6. Reference to critical material rela<\/span><\/span>ted to this topic is necessary (<\/span><\/span>y<\/span><\/u>ou should refer to at least 3 <\/span><\/u>recent <\/span><\/u>critical works<\/span><\/u> from the e-library<\/span><\/u>. Make sure they are updated sources<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

7. All your references should follow the Harvard citation system uploaded on the LMS for your perusal.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

8. At this stage, you are expected to know how to paraphrase and synthesize the material you read, using your own words as much as possible. You still have to quote and use quotation marks in the right annotation methods you <\/span>have learned<\/span><\/span> in EL122 <\/span>Research Methodology <\/span>course<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
