FORMAT OF RESEARCH PAPER The paper (8-10 pages, excluding title page and reference page) must be typed, double-spaced with 1-inch margins on all sides in 12-point font. The reference section of your paper must be in American Psychological Association format and completely referenced. Paper needs to have an introduction, body (with sections delineated by clear transition sentences), conclusion, and a reference page with at least 8 scholarly references.<\/p>\n

Suggested format of paper (must cover these topics, but not necessarily in this order)<\/div>\n

1.Introduction (make sure to include a thesis statement)<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
2.Your Integrative Approach to Counseling Write an integrative paper that addresses your personal theoretical orientation to counseling. Yourpaper should deal with aspects such as:<\/div>\n
\u2022key concepts of your approach<\/div>\n
view of your role as a counselor<\/div>\n
\u2022 therapeutic goals and how you would decide upon goals<\/div>\n
\u2022relationship issues you are likely to consider<\/div>\n
central techniques you are likely to employ<\/div>\n
\u2022how you would address issues of cultural diversity<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In this section of the paper, address specific issues as outlined in the textbook. This particular<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
section should attempt to integrate as many concepts and techniques as you can based upon two<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
or more of the counseling models.<\/div>\n

I suggest you take a primary theory (one that comes closest to<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
your beliefs and your theory of choice — and then branch out showing how you would draw<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
techniques from several others theoretical approaches. Be sure to state why you select a<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
particular theory as your main theory. Show how you could bring in ideas and techniques from<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
the various theories you have studied into your own integrative theoretical stance.<\/div>\n
