Preparing for your presentation\n<\/div>\n
Main steps\n<\/div>\n
–\tYou have to find a scientific paper that you will present using Power point slides.\n<\/div>\n
–\tThe topic of the paper must be related to psychotraumatology. It can be anything you like (trauma and risk groups, refugees, traumatic event in your country, other topic that you are interested in).\n<\/div>\n
–\tBy March 31st, you have to register your topic at Moodle and get the approval from the lecturer.\n<\/div>\n
–\tIf you do not prepare the presentation, you cannot have an exam.\n<\/div>\n
–\tPreparing and presenting is an individual work.\n<\/div>\n
–\tThe duration of presentation is 10-15 minutes.\n<\/div>\n
–\tMain parts of the presentation should look like that:\n<\/div>\n
o\tintroduction (why this topic is important, what you are going to present);\n<\/div>\n
o\tmethods (who the participants are, how they are assessed);\n<\/div>\n
o\tresults and discussion (what the results of the study are, what they mean).\n<\/div>\n
IMPORTANT Do not use disturbing images, videos or something familiar in your presentation, because some viewers may find it stressful to watch!\n<\/div>\n
How to search for a scientific papers?\n<\/div>\n
–\tThink of a topic that you are interested in.\n<\/div>\n
–\tThink of the key words that describes your topic the best.\n<\/div>\n
–\tWrite them to the chosen databases. They are: Web of Science, Scopus, PsychNet, PubMed. You can also use Google Scholar. Also look at journals: European Journal of Psychotraumatology, Journal of Traumatic Stress, Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy.\n<\/div>\n
–\tThe paper has to be good and reliable. It means that the journal where it is published has to be good and reliable.\n<\/div>\n
–\tFor checking the quality of the journal where the paper is published, go to www.scimagojr.com or https:\/\/www.scopus.com journal must be of the level Q1 or Q2.\n<\/div>\n
–\tAlso, the paper shouldn\u2019t be older than 10 years.\n<\/div>\n
–\tYou can also use books, related to your topic.\n<\/div>\n
