How has technology shaped your life? How does it help you? How does it limit you? Do you have problems related to technology that you’d like to solve?<\/p>\n

The essay can rely on the rhetorical modes of tharration, description, process analysis, synthesis, etc. (More on that below.) The key point is that you are using your “self”-your life and your personal experience as the material. Of course, you can also use what you know from your circle of friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, etc. This is an essay you will write without doing formal research.
