Minimum Content Requirements:<\/p>\n

Must follow the assignment topic.<\/div>\n
Must be a minimum of 1,000 words. This does not include the header (e.g., your name, essay title, Works Cited page, etc.).<\/div>\n
Must have a clearly restricted, unified, and specific thesis.<\/div>\n
Must avoid tangents unrelated to the main idea.<\/div>\n
Must show use of specific details.<\/div>\n
Must show use of specific language.<\/div>\n
Should be written third person (he\/she\/it\/they).<\/div>\n
All examples must clearly support the thesis.<\/div>\n

Formatting Requirements:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Include a header with your name, course title, course time, and date. Place this on the left margin, at the top of the paper.<\/div>\n
Include a title that is related to the content of the essay, centered on the page, at least four spaces above the first paragraph.<\/div>\n
Points will be deducted for a lack of title or for titles such as “Title” or “Essay” or “Major Writing Assignment 1.”<\/div>\n
Use Times New Roman font, no larger or smaller than 12 point.<\/div>\n
Use 1-inch margins (no larger or smaller)<\/div>\n
Double space the body of the essay.<\/div>\n
Left justify the body of the essay.<\/div>\n
Minimum of five sources. One source must be a scholarly article from Nash Library.<\/div>\n
All quotes and paraphrases must be correctly cited in both parenthetical (in text) and external (on the Works Cited page) form.<\/div>\n
