Benny\u2019s Boxes is a company that makes and distributes packing boxes and packing material throughout the United States. Benny\u2019s has a home office in Georgia but small warehouses in several other states. Therefore, the organization is geographically diversified. Hiring has been difficult since monitoring and enforcing policies and practices is difficult. The organization has no internet presence other than the sales and marketing website which is very robust and functional.  You believe that recruiting and hiring via the internet would stabilize your recruiting and hiring practices.\n<\/div>\n
You\u2019ve requested an audience with me (your boss) and the owner of the company to review a proposal to centralize the hiring process through social media. Prepare that proposal given the above detailed parameters. Make sure you include costs and also reference a real example of how an organization handles on-line recruiting and hiring (some research may be necessary). Remember your goal is to convince me and the owner that centralized on-line recruiting is doable and beneficial.\n<\/div>\n

In this scenario, I\u2019m your boss and you are writing to me in order to convince me to accept your proposal.<\/div>\n
I\u2019m a tough old man, but reasonable. But I have little tolerance for long, rambling dissertations to<\/div>\n
communicate simple realities. Nor do I have patience for short, non-sensical attempts to communicate<\/div>\n
ideas and thoughts that only display the authors inability to communicate in writing. The old adage KISS<\/div>\n
(Keep It Simple Stupid) always applies. But I\u2019ll also add \u201cMake It Complete and Readable\u201d.<\/div>\n
Think about it, research it, develop a proposal and<\/div>\n
communicate that proposal in writing to me. Make sure your communication meets these requirements:<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Ideally 5 pages<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 Format \u2013 I\u2019m your boss. I need to understand it! It must flow with a structured format that<\/div>\n
communicates a structured and logical message. Don\u2019t try to impress me with big words and<\/div>\n
don\u2019t worry about any specific format.<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 You must have at least 3 outside references (credible articles, book quotes etc. that will enhance<\/div>\n
your credibility)<\/div>\n
\uf0b7 You must write to convince! Write to communicate! Write to create action!Think about it, research it, develop a proposal and<\/div>\n
communicate that proposal in writing to me. <\/div>\n
Finally, you should create a \u201cwritten elevator speech (look it up)\u201d that is no longer than 300 words that summarizes your proposal. <\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7 One further note: This is not an English Class. I won\u2019t grade every nuance of punctuation. I won\u2019t<\/div>\n
deduct if you miss a comma. But you must use punctuation when it affects the meaning and<\/div>\n
understanding. In other words, if it doesn\u2019t make sense because you failed to use a comma or<\/div>\n
used endless run on sentences or misspelled words, your grade will suffer. Not because of failure<\/div>\n
to follow punctuation protocol but due to clarity of communication. You see, I\u2019m really more<\/div>\n
interested in how and what you think, rather than your ability to follow strict grammatical<\/div>\n
protocol.<\/div>\n
I will assess if your solution is realistic, workable, and addresses the issue. For example, if your job is to<\/div>\n
kill a fly and you choose to burn the building down, it may work but it is neither practicable, realistic, or<\/div>\n
workable. That would receive a poor grade.<\/div>\n
