The final capstone paper is a 900-1000 word essay assignment that asks students to examine a variety of diverse primary sources related to the history of Work, Women, and Family between 1877 and 2000, such as economic data, government reports, presidential speeches, polling data, survey reports, newspaper editorials, magazine articles, cartoons, songs, narrative films, political newsletters, and position papers. Students will then choose several of these primary sources to discuss in an argumentative essay that explains the change or continuity in government policies and ground-level experiences of women in the paid labor force. Focus on Women’s Labor during wartime in WW1, WW2, Vietnam, and Now. in what ways did it change from each war? Include at least 3 PRIMARY sources that can be used to show the change in progression. additionally, include a few secondary. sources to back up the argument.
